Information We May Process

Depending on the service used, KaroRefer may process name, email, mobile/WhatsApp number, city/location, education, work experience, salary/job preferences, resume/documents, job/referral information, interview information, joining/employment milestone information, payment information, support/grievance records, authentication records, IP address, user-agent and security/audit information.

Purposes

Information may be processed for account creation and authentication; referral/application management; matching Candidates with opportunities; HR/employer communication; interview, joining and employment-milestone administration; reward/payment administration; support and grievance handling; fraud/security prevention; legal/compliance obligations; audit trails; and operation/improvement of the Platform.

Candidate Information Submitted by a Referee

Referees are required to inform Candidates and obtain permission before submitting Candidate information. KaroRefer may contact the Candidate at the supplied email/mobile to verify or complete the Candidate’s participation. Candidates may contact the grievance address below if they believe their information was submitted without permission.

Sharing

Relevant information may be shared with participating/prospective employers, authorised HR/recruitment personnel and vendors/service providers reasonably necessary to deliver the service. KaroRefer will seek to limit processing and sharing to what is reasonably necessary for the disclosed purpose and applicable law.

Retention

KaroRefer may retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the disclosed purpose, legal/compliance obligations, fraud prevention, accounting/payment records, audit trails and establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims. Information should not be retained indefinitely without a legitimate purpose.

Security

KaroRefer uses reasonable technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the service. No internet-based system can be guaranteed completely secure. Users should protect OTPs and account access and promptly report suspected compromise.

User Requests and Grievances

Users may contact Reachout@karorefer.com regarding correction, erasure, consent/privacy concerns, access-related requests or grievances, subject to applicable law and legitimate retention requirements. The applicable mechanisms may be updated as provisions of India’s data-protection framework come into force.

Transactional Communications

KaroRefer may send communications necessary for OTP/security, registration, referral/application processing, HR contact, interview, status, joining, reward/payment, support and material service notices. Marketing communications should be managed separately in accordance with applicable law.

Changes

This Privacy Notice may be updated for legal, regulatory, security or operational reasons. Material changes will be communicated appropriately and, where required, fresh consent or acknowledgement may be obtained.
